In 1905, our founder James “Big Jim” Cashman came to southern Nevada looking for opportunities. In addition to his stagecoach line, automobile dealership, the state’s first franchised airline, and Helldorado Days, Big Jim was also heavily involved in the building of the Boulder (now Hoover) Dam. He began the Cashman Equipment story in 1931 by selling six Cat Model 60 Tractors to the project.

Today, Cashman Equipment is owned by MaryKaye Cashman, with multiple locations throughout the state and approximately 1,000 employees. We provide sales, service, parts, rental, power, and technology solutions throughout Nevada and parts of eastern California.
For nearly 90 years, Cashman Equipment has taken its commitment to the community and environment of Nevada very seriously. Meeting the needs of the present without compromising the future was one of many motivating factors behind the evolution of the company.

The creation of the company’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold corporate headquarters, which utilized recycled materials and a multitude of local materials and contractors during construction, is a great example. The end result is a sustainable building that minimizes energy and water consumption while providing a healthier environment for employees. Cashman Equipment and its employees have also worked diligently on improving the company culture by implementing recycling programs throughout all their facilities, again with a commitment to sustainability and future generations.

Cashman Equipment is the Caterpillar equipment dealer in the state of Nevada and parts of California. The company provides new and used equipment for sale and rental as well as high quality parts and service to the construction, mining, energy, paving, laser site control, power, and truck engine industries.

Cashman Equipment has multiple sales, service, and rental locations throughout its territory, employs approximately 1,000 dedicated professionals, is ranked as one of the largest women-owned business employers in Las Vegas, and has become one of the top Caterpillar dealerships in North America.

The tour will include: the main office, the shop, parts warehouse ($90 Million in inventory) and outside equipment storage.  As an added bonus, Cashman is located on top a GEO thermal energy source, which they utilize to fuel the buildings.  This is a large multiple building campus.   Transportation to Cashman will be provided and leave the RIO at 1:00 pm and return at 3:30 pm.
